The significantly thinner flat shank and the second thread channel distinguish this needle from other household needles. The additional thread channel supports stitch formation in the overlock seam. In addition, the SY 2054 overlock needle has a reinforced shaft. This significantly reduces the risk of needle breakage.

Thanks to the slightly rounded tip, most materials can be sewn gently and easily with this needle. The overlock needle SY 2054 with flat shank is only suitable for household overlock machines where the needle system SY 2054 or 16x75 is indicated in the instruction manual.
